One of the most exciting projects I took on was making a live edge walnut table with Japanese-style legs. From the start, I was really pumped about the creative challenge. The natural beauty of the live edge walnut mixed with the sleek, minimalist Japanese design was a perfect blend of tradition and modern style. Every step, from picking the perfect walnut slab to shaping and assembling the legs, was so rewarding. The final result blew me away – the table turned out to be a stunning centrepiece and a great example of how different woodworking styles can come together. This project was an absolute joy to work on and is definitely one of my favourites.

Another fun project crafting a table using both maple and walnut. I absolutely loved mixing these two wood species to make each one stand out. The contrast between the light maple and the rich, dark walnut created a striking visual effect that really made the table pop. The legs for this table were a new and interesting challenge for me, adding an extra layer of excitement to the project. From the initial design to the final assembly, I enjoyed every moment. It was incredibly satisfying to see how the different grains and colours complemented each other so beautifully. I also added a matching bench, which tied the whole set together perfectly. With the remaining wood, it was nice to return to my early joinery roots by crafting a couple of chopping boards. The end result was a stunning, unique piece that showcased the natural beauty of both woods. This project was a true highlight and a testament to the magic that happens when you blend different materials.

One of my standout projects was designing and building a custom kitchen cabinet for a client who wanted to make a bold statement in their home. They had a vision of blending classic elements with a touch of modern flair, and we decided on an oak countertop paired with MDF cupboards and shelves painted a striking dark purple. The client’s goal was to create a unique, eye-catching centrepiece for their kitchen that reflected their vibrant personality and love for bold design choices. The combination of the warm oak with the rich, dramatic purple created a stunning contrast that really made the cabinet pop. When the project was completed, the client was overjoyed with the result. The cabinet not only enhanced their kitchen's functionality but also became a conversation piece, perfectly capturing their style and adding a personal touch to their home. I'm so happy with how thrilled they were with the final product.

As promised, I don’t just create furniture—I dabble in a bit of carpentry too! One of my recent projects involved building a decking that stands 4 feet off the ground, complete with a handrail and ramp. For this job, I used composite decking to ensure safety and durability, avoiding any issues with slipping that you might get with traditional wood. The composite material not only provides a sleek, modern look but also stands up well to the elements, making it a practical choice for outdoor use. The handrail adds a touch of elegance and ensures security, while the ramp makes it accessible for everyone. The result is a sturdy, stylish outdoor space that’s perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing. The client was thrilled with the final product, and it’s now a great spot for enjoying the outdoors without any worry about slipping or maintenance.

Building these oak doors and architrave from scratch was a blast. It’s really satisfying to create even the little details like architrave by hand, knowing that everything is custom-made and adds a unique touch to the home. The oak’s rich color and texture bring a warm, classic feel that you just can’t beat. And while I love saying “handmade,” let’s be real—it’s more like “machine made” with all the tools I use. But hey, even with all the tech, it’s awesome to know that every piece is crafted with care. The finished doors and architrave really give the place a personal, handcrafted vibe that makes all the difference.
